About Membership

General Information
The OSHRM membership year is January through December.  OSHRM membership is by person, not organization, and may not be transfered or assigned to another person.

Membership
To be eligible for OSHRM membership, individuals should be one of the following: (a) practitioners of human resource management (exempt or non-exempt) for at least three years; (b) certified by the Human Resource Certification Institute; (c) faculty members holding an assistant, associate, or full professor rank in human resource management at any of its specialized functions at an accredited college or university and have at least three years of experience at this level of teaching; (d) full-time consultant with at least three years experience practicing in the field of human resource management; and/or (e) full-time attorneys with at least three years of experience in counseling and advising clients on matters relating to the human resource profession. Others who demonstrate a bona fide interest in human resource management and the missions of the Chapter may also join.

 
Student Membership
Students are welcome to join OSHRM, and may do so at no charge. To encourage student participation and membership, OSHRM will subsidize the cost for student members to attend OSHRM meetings, but registration is required.  Requirements for student membership include:
  • Enrolled as either a full-time or part-time student, at freshman standing or higher;
  • Enrolled in the equivalent of at least six credit hours;
  • Enrolled in a four-year or graduate institution and/or a consortium of these or a two-year community college with a matriculation agreement between it and a four-year college or university which provides for automatic acceptance of the commuity college student into the four-year college or university;
  • Able to provide verification of a demonstrated emphasis in human resource management subjects; and
  • Able to provide verification of the college or university's human resources or related degree program.

  • $50 for annual membership
  • $0 for student membership
  • $0 for retiree membership
 
Two steps to become an OSHRM member:
  1. Complete and submit the membership application.​​​​​
  2. Pay the membership dues online, by mail, or in person at a meeting.
